What you can do with Streak's MCP server

Once connected, your AI assistant can read your CRM data, create and update records, and analyze your pipeline. Use the prompts below as a starting point.

Find and read CRM data

What you can do Example prompt
Search across boxes, pipelines, and contacts "Find every deal in the negotiation stage owned by Jake."
Read full box details and recent timeline activity "Show me what's happened on the Acme Corp deal in the last two weeks."
Filter and summarize a pipeline "Summarize my sales pipeline by stage and total deal value."
Look up a contact, including social profiles "What's Sarah Chen's email and LinkedIn profile?"
An AI chat interface showing a user asking "Show me all deals in negotiation stage" and getting back a formatted list with deal names, stages, last activity dates, and key contact information.

Create and update records

What you can do Example prompt
Create a new box in any pipeline "Create a box for Globex in my Sales pipeline."
Update box fields and move deals between stages "Move Globex to Proposal Sent and set the deal value to $40,000."
Add a comment to a box "Add a comment on Globex summarizing today's call."
Create a contact or organization and link it to a box "Add maria@globex.com as a contact on the Globex deal."
Add a Gmail email into a box timeline "Add my latest email thread with Globex to the deal timeline."
Add new options to custom columns as you update them "Tag Globex as Enterprise, and create that tag if it doesn't exist."
An AI conversation showing user saying "Move Acme Corp to Proposal Sent and create a follow-up task for Friday" with AI responding with confirmation that both actions were completed in Streak.

Analyze your pipeline and strategize:

Because the AI has direct access to your pipeline data, it can answer questions and build charts from your real records, not generic templates.

What you can do Example prompt
Assess deal health and prioritize follow-ups "Which deals are most likely to close this quarter based on recent activity?"
Generate charts from pipeline data "Create a bar chart of deal value by stage."
An AI conversation showing strategic analysis request like "Which deals are most likely to close this quarter based on recent activity?" with AI providing data-driven insights including deal names, likelihood scores, reasoning based on activity patterns, and recommended next steps.

Create instant visual analytics:

Beyond text-based analysis, your AI assistant can generate charts, graphs, and visualizations from your pipeline data on demand.

Ask for "a bar chart of deal values by stage," "monthly close rate trends," or "team performance comparison" and get instant visual insights. Since the AI has direct access to your CRM data, these aren't generic templates—they're real analytics built from your actual pipeline.

AI conversation showing user asking "Create a line chart showing deal value trends over time for Q1 2026" with AI generating and displaying an interactive line chart with actual pipeline data.

FAQs

What is MCP?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that allows AI assistants to securely connect to external tools and data. It gives your AI assistant context about your business so conversations can include real data and actions.

Do I need to pay extra for MCP access?

No. Streak's MCP server is available to all users at no additional cost.

Which AI assistants work with Streak's MCP server?

Any AI tool that supports MCP can connect to Streak. This includes Claude (Web, Desktop, Code), ChatGPT (via MCP connector), Cursor, VS Code, and other MCP-compatible applications.

Can the AI change my CRM data?

Yes. Beyond reading data, the AI can create and update records on your behalf, such as creating boxes, updating fields, and adding comments. It acts using your existing Streak permissions, and you confirm actions in your AI client before they run.

What's the difference between the ChatGPT app and MCP?

The ChatGPT app is specifically designed for ChatGPT and provides the simplest setup experience. MCP is a more universal approach that works with multiple AI assistants. Both give you the same core functionality.

How is authentication handled?

Streak uses OAuth for MCP connections - the same secure authentication method used by our web and mobile apps. The Model Context Protocol uses OAuth for secure, user-controlled access. Data access is limited to your Streak workspace and follows your existing user permissions. No API keys or credentials are stored in your AI client, and you can revoke access at any time from your Streak account settings.

Can the AI assistant see my email content?

The MCP server provides access to CRM data like deals, contacts, and timelines, but does not provide access to email content. For email analysis, use Streak's built-in AI features within Gmail.

What if I want to disconnect?

You can revoke MCP access at any time from your Streak account settings. This immediately disables the connection for all connected AI assistants.

Does this work with team accounts?

Yes. Each team member can connect their own Streak account to AI assistants. Data access follows each person's existing permissions within your Streak workspace.
